DNSBOX range overview

ApplianSys’ DNSBOX range was launched in 2002, in response to the growing demand for devices that married the benefits of DNS management software with the additional security, reliability, ease-of-use and lower TCO of the appliance format.

ApplianSys promotes an orthodox DNS master-slave architecture, with the master secure behind the firewall and a minimum of 2 slaves serving queries for redundancy. The master is used to edit DNS records and holds the authoritative records, but does not resolve DNS queries directly.

The range features a number of master and slave models.

• DNSBOX050 – SME small form factor (light duty)
• DNSBOX310 – enterprise master (light duty)
• DNSBOX320 – enterprise master (standard duty)
• DNSBOX330 – enterprise master (heavy duty)
• DNSBOX420 – enterprise master + IPAM (standard duty)
• DNSBOX430 – enterprise master + IPAM (heavy duty)

DNS slave appliance

• DNSBOX110 – enterprise slave (light duty)
