With DNS a popular target for attack by hackers DNSBOX400 incorporates industry standard architecture and DNS security best practice from the outset. By only communicating with authoritative slaves it can operate in stealth mode preventing it from responding to port scans and rendering it invisible outside the network.
All connections to the User Interface are secured using SSL and connections between DNSBOX400 and secondary servers are secured using SSH and TSIGs. With data in the Solid EmbeddedEngine SQL backend accessed over secure connections and support for DNSSEC and signed master zone files it is hard to intercept DNS traffic.
