Hamilton Township cuts traffic with CACHEBOX |
By ApplianSys , April 26, 2008 |
ApplianSys today announced Hamilton Township Public Schools has chosen CACHEBOX as its preferred solution for delivering content caching across the district. The devices will help save money by reducing WAN traffic to its ISP. As teachers incorporate more online content into lessons the demand for access to ‘rich media’ can overwhelm bandwidth available to schools. Rather than resorting to purchasing more bandwidth CACHEBOX is helping authorities such as Hamilton make better use of existing connections. With teacher-friendly features such as ‘pre-loading’ built in, content can be downloaded before lessons begin. Teachers and pupils using this content access it from the LAN and so avoid generating new traffic to the internet. In addition to the CACHEBOXes, Hamilton also purchased DNSBOX to simplify its DNS management. |
