making network managers' lives easier
Crispin Jewitt is an experienced and successful software manager, with a
wide range of experience in embedded software and networking. He has led
development teams in large and small organisations, and has implemented a
variety of software quality systems.
Crispin was appointed as CTO in July 2008, with the brief to accelerate the
growth of a world class appliance engineering team.
His development roles span a number of industries, such as process control,
industrial weighing systems, powerline networking, datacomms and
semiconductor devices. At Madge Networks in the 1990s, his high performance
embedded code helped establish the company as the number one supplier of
Token Ring Network equipment, and he eventually assumed responsibility for
all Token Ring developments. Subsequent to that, he was Head of Software at
nSine, a startup pioneering the use of mains wiring for low-cost datacomms
within buildings. Immediately prior to joining ApplianSys he led the
software function at Oxford Semiconductor Limited that turned software from
being a necessity to being a key differentiator for the company, enabling
40% year on year growth.
